Sorry I've been away you know fishing, bluegills,crappies and trout aer all getting hot.
plus some computer problems. Plus tying a lot of trout flies.
I have a Question for my fellow members would you consider this fly a new pattern or

a reinvention of an old favorite? Please I want your honest opinion!! The bow went 18.5 inches
caught on a size 22 midge pupa.
P.S. Maybe I'm still having cp problems

If the bow took the midge pupa then it's not a new pattern. Check out the book "1000 Midge Patterns" by Rick Takahasi and you'll find a bunch of patterns that look very similar if not the same. Only differences between patterns seem to be the color or type of the thorax dubbing and the material used for the body. The pattern I have in the book used Persall's brown silk for the body. I think the key is to get the size and the shape correct.

yes the bow took the midge but I have been tying that pattern for about 25 years in some form
or another and the body is moose mane
I asking about the caddis pupa?
who is the pubsher of that book I think I would like to get one after I learn to read
