Mayfly nymph
tied by BigDaddyHubFly Type: Nymphs,
Target Species: Trout,
Imitation: Mayflies,
Material List: tail: Three strands of 4lb mono-splayed
Hook: sz 14 1x nymph hook of your choosing
Thread: 70 Denier olive
Abdomen: Cream Razor Foam colored to suit
Thorax:
Dubbing of your choice
Legs: Paul Whillock Japanese Nymph Legs
Tying Instructions: tied in the style of Steve Thornton's Heptid nymphs and other mayfly nymphs. The foam is tied in over the tail and wrapped up the shank to form the segmented body. The wing case is tied in behind the first set of legs, not at the eye, but the fly may be completed at the eye for simplicity. Still working on this pattern, but it's coming along nicely. Finding the right legs made all the difference when compared to earlier attempts.
