Then I tie the elk hair in for the wing. I don't tie the wing upright yet, not until I wrap the body, it make dealing with the pheasant tail easier. I use 4-5 PT fibers to wrap the body. I wrap the PT and the thread opposite each other wrapping in the same direction (if that makes sense). By wrapping it this way the thread helps support the PT and if you loose some of the PT along the way it won't all unwind. Once the body is complete I tie the wing in the upright position. When the wing is finished I take some dubbing and wrap it behind and in front of the wing. Build up the head, whip finish and you're done. Presentation Tips: I tied this fly to mimic the brown drakes on Michigans Ausable river. It turned out to work great, even when there was no hatch. The PT body gives the fly such a buggy look, chaces are it mimics several other flies. I'm hoping this spring to try it out in Pennslyvania. | Other Flies Tied by ewen84
