Target Species: Pike,
Recommended Region: Central Canada,
Material List: Tiemco 300 streamer hook or other long shank hook.
Red Big Fly thread
Crosscut rabbit strips in yellow and red
Yellow/gold and red flashabou
Tying Instructions: Tie in flashabou for tail.
Wrap thread generously to hook eye or just before and wrap back.
Take two crosscut rabbit strips of yellow and red and tie them in at the rear of hook shank at the same time.
Varnish thread close to hook eye up the shank.
Hold the rabbit strips parallel and begin to wrap them carefully around the hook shank at the same time.
This way their colors will blend nicely.
Wrap them to hook eye and tie off.
Varnish head and you're done.
Presentation Tips: This fly can be tied in different sizes for many kinds of fish.
Usually pike flies have a long, full tail.
This one only incorporates flash as the tail
leaving a full body as the main target for a
hungry pike.
