When wrapping the copper back up the hook shank towards the eye, be sure to leave the tag end of copper after you secure it. You slide the bead on this copper, position the bead over the back of the fly and secure. This is the most durable way to mount the bead. I used to use a loop of thread but it was breaking off too easy when a fish cranked on it. Presentation Tips: I discovered the effectiveness of this fly while fishing a midge hatch on the Frying Pan River in Colorado. The fish were eating the emerging midges as they floated to the surface. So, I tied this as a dropper 1.5 ft below a dry fly and the fish hammered it all day. You can nymph this fly deep as well but I love this fly as a shallow dropper. | Other Flies Tied by willbradford
