Synthetic Pheasant
tied by willbradfordFly Type: Nymphs,
Target Species: Trout,
Recommended Region: Other,
Imitation: Mayflies,
Material List: The same materials (and tying technique) as a modern flash back pheasant tail nymph but replace the pheasant tail fibers with
Brown (or color of choice) Antron yarn and replace the peacock herl thorax with a synthetic
Dubbing like fine and dry or superfine (color of choice)
Tying Instructions: This can be adapted to any of the pheasant tail styles (bead head, weighted under thorax, etc) I just like the predictability of synthetic materials. And from my experience, the fish don't seem to care.
Presentation Tips: It's a nymph so fish it like one :)
