Paracaddis

tied by sorin
Fly Type: Dry,
Target Species: Trout,
Recommended Region: General Europe,
Imitation: Caddis Flies,
Material List: Hook: anything #12-14 but I prefere Tiemco as a brand;
Body: hare's ear, Dubbing;
Hackle: mixed red and gryzzly;
Para base wing: foam
Caddis wings: pheasant flank feather
Tying Instructions: I guess that only the wings are important to describe, despite I'm not a good english speaker.
So... You take a simetric flank feather - works well from pheasant, esspecially female, or partridge. First you have to cut the top of the stem and keep around 3/4-1" stem with same lenght of barbs. You fold all barbs down to the base of stem and you tie in. after that you remove the stem keeping the barbs together. Very hard to explain, but you'll see that you can remove the stem because a small quill will keep all barbs in place.
Presentation Tips: Dry fly presentation with... drag on the water.
Thanks,
Sorin
