Thorax: Wet fly Dubbing to match the local insects. Legs: Japanese Nymph Legs Head: Black thread coated with Pro-Lac Black lacquer. Tying Instructions: Weight the hook with 15 turns of .020 lead or lead substitute. Tie in the dubbing brush at the rear of the hook just down the bend and wind it up until the base of the thorax. Add the legs and bend to shape. Add dubbing to cover the leg tie in points and create the thorax. Use thread to create a thick head and apply the black lacquer. Hint: I then use a small electric trimmer to shape the abdomen and trim the deer hair. A single edge razor works fine as well but the trimmer is easy and your less likely to slice your fingers in the process. Presentation Tips: Through the pockets... | Other Flies Tied by BruceC
