Select a small bunch of hackle fibers tying them in as the tail. Take quill from water and blot the excess from it. Tie the small end of the quill in and wrap forward completing the abdomen and tie it off. Select 2 hen feathers and strip the quill providing a clean stem to tie down leaving the wing equal to the length of the hook. Tie them in tips forward then pull upright and place several wraps of thread in fron of the wings. Now tie in the hackle placing the stem on the far side of the hook past the wings. Hen wings can be a bit fagile and tying the hackle stem in on the far side will avoid distorting the wing position should the stem slip while tightening the loops. Next gently wrap a figure eight through the wings then 3-4 light wraps in front to lock the thread without splaying the wings down into a full spinner position. Wind approx. 4 wraps of hackle behind the wings and 3 wraps in fron and tie off. | Other Flies Tied by fishinlk
