Brown-gray Ostrich plume herls, tied on by the tips, gently twisted and wrapped.
Tying Instructions: Tie on the hackle by the stem so the tip points out, over the eye, stripped side to the hook. Wrap the thread down the shank to the bend and tie ribbing wire. Tie on the ostrich herls by their tips, and wrap the tying thread back towards the eye wrapping over the wire end and ends of the herl tips forming a slightly tapered underbody. Gently twist the herl and wrap down toward the eye. Tie off and trim excess. Counter-rib with the wire, tie off and trim excess. Wrap the hackle-2 turns- tie off and trim excess. While holding the hackles swept back with the non-tying hands thumb and forefinger, slightly overwrap the hackle fibers to hold them in position. Form the head, whip finish, and add cement
