Current Tags for This Pattern / Brown / Dubbing / fox / Ginger / Tinsel / grey fox![]() tied by tightlines Fly Type: Nymphs, Target Species: Trout, Recommended Region: Eastern Canada, Imitation: Mayflies, Material List: light ginger/Brown Dubbing natural woodduck dark Brown Hackle oval gold tinsel Brown thread hook #10-#14 Tying Instructions: attach thread to base of hook tie in some natural woodduck for a tail tie in some oval gold tinsel tie in some more long woodduck (used for the back) twist the light ginger dubbing onto the thread wind it forward about 3/4s the way up the shank bring the long woodduck piece you tied in towards the front of the hook (laying it ontop of the back) tie it off bring the oval gold tinsel up winding around the body of the fly. tie it off if you think you have enough woodduck to make a wingcase there is no need to tie in some more woodduck, if not tie more in. twist on more dubbing wind it forward then use the woodduck to make a wingcase and tie that off. I usually put a knot or two at this point so I can invert the fly to attach the legs but others will have there own technique. Invert fly, cut some hackly out and tie it just beneatch the head of the fly.
