Crank-Fly

tied by hook-line&sinker
Fly Type: Streamers,
Target Species: Freshwater Bass,
Recommended Region: Southwest US,
Imitation: General Baitfish,
Material List: Plastic soda bottle for the lip
and whatever basic streamer pattern materials you want to use.
Tying Instructions: Cut the plastic into a tear drop shape with a long tail leave the front bigger then final size, you can trim it down after the rest of the fly is done.

Pierce the plastic with the hook as in the picture, fold the tail back along the top of the hook and tie down. Build the thread head as you tie on the other streamer materials trying to keep it square to the hook. Once the fly is tied like you want it use fingernail clippers to shape and even up the lip of the crank-fly. Secure the whole head with cement if you want. Add weight if desired but the lip size determines if it dives or just swims.
Presentation Tips: Fish it as you would any streamer.
