Presentation Tips: Lou Tabory developed his snake fly for stripers, and I must say that in black it's one of my favorites for fishing at night. I've been using smaller, brightly colored snake flies the past few seasons for smallmouth bass and have had a ball with the pattern. This pattern typically runs no more than a foot under the surface, so all strikes are very visual. When fish are inactive, a slow steady retrieve that leaves a wake is best. When they're active, a faster more erractic retrieve works better.
