Brown Maribou Muddler

tied by J Desjardins
Fly Type: Streamers,
Target Species: not available Freshwater Bass, Panfish,
Recommended Region: Northeast US,
Imitation: General Baitfish,
Material List: It doesn't look like much, but the results have made this one is a favorite of mine, for bass & panfish.

Hook #6-12 streamer
thread: Black
tail: Brown maribou
body: silver or gold embroidery floss
wing: Brown maribou
collar & head: Deer hair tied sparse & cut short
Tying Instructions:
Bind a piece of maribou in for the tail and wind the thread ~ 2/3'ds of the way to the eye. Tie in the embroidery floss and wind the two strands flat to the hook bend. Twist the floss together to make a single strand and wind back to the head of the fly as a rib. Tie in the wing then spin a deer hair collar and head. Trim and go fishing.I like to tie these in batches of 4 - 8, tying everything but the deer hair on all of them and then tying the deer hair.
Presentation Tips: Dress it with a floatant and work it on the surface or fish it as is and it very slowly sinks.
