Tying Instructions: I use this image to help me produce life like leg, abdomen and thoracic proportions on generic Stonefly Nymph patterns. When I began realistic fly tying, body proportions were a nightmare for me. I soon learned to measure the length of a leg or head etc. with my scissors (use the scissor tips like calipers) and then use this to check the proportions on the Fly I was tying.
