Fly Type: Nymphs,
Target Species: Steelhead,
Material List: Hook: Size 6 and 8 2X
Thread: Tan 6/0
Tail: 3 Pheasant tail fibers
Rib: Thin Copper wire
Abdomen: Dubbed marabou
Wingcase: Pheasant tail
Thorax: Dubbed rump feathers
Eyes: Black mono
Lead wire: .025 and .015
Tying Instructions: Place .025 lead along each side of shank and secure. (This will give the fly the flat/oval appearance)
Wrap a layer of .015 lead along the entire shank.
Attach tail fibers and copper ribbing.
Create a dubbing loop and spin marabou along approximately 2/3 of shank.
Wrap the copper wire forward and attach the wingcase.
Make another dubbing loop and add the rumpfeathers. Wind toward head and bring the wingcase forward and tie off.
Add mono eyes (optional) and whip finish
Presentation Tips: This nymph is best fished below riffles and through faster pools. It will sink rapidly. One of the best presentations is to use a small egg about 10" in front of the nymph.
