Fly Type: Terrestrials & Midges,
Target Species: not available Freshwater Bass, Panfish, Trout,
Recommended Region: not available Northeast US, Northwest US, Southeast US, Southwest US, Central US,
Imitation: Ants/Beetles, Hoppers/Crickets,
Material List: Mustad 79580 Streamer Hook, this one is a #8
Black G Thread
Orange Chenille
Elk Body Hair
White rubber leg material
Tying Instructions: Tie in chenille behind the eye till even with the point of the hook. Next tie in elk hair at the bend of the hook, it will stand up at a 45* torwards the eye of the hook, then wrap thread to form the "stinger". Next lift the Elk hair up so you can bring your thread back to the eye of the hook under the elk hair. Now grab the hair and pull it down and tie it in behind the eye. After the wingcase is formed take 2 strips of rubberleg material and tie them inbehind where your head will meet the wingcase. Form your head, whip finish, and add a couple coats of sally hansen's hard as nails to the head and butt.
Presentation Tips: This fly floats pretty well so you could probably fish it the same way as any floating terrestrial/beetle. Playing with it in the bathtub, a twitching action looks like it'd be pretty tempting for bass/panfish
