About Me
Hi everyone
my name is phil jones i come from preston in lancashire uk married to Alli i got into fly tying by default after i was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis
before i had to finish work i was a painter/decorator with a love of pike fishing i have fished all over the uk but my fave place has got to be lough derg a fantastic place hopefully i will be back there at some point as ive never had a 20lb pike from there ive been close on a few occasions
after diagnosis i kept working for a year or so but i was having a lot of relapses my neurologist suggested i finished work so i sold most of my course fishing tackle as money was tight and gave up fishing as walking to the places i liked to fish wasnt an option
a mate of mine suggested i try trout fishing so i gave it a go caught nothing but some of the local trout lakes near me had nice carparks little walking, and places to sit and make a brew far better than struggelling around rydal water or grassmere at dawn in winter in one of the huts was an advert for fly tying as i had no idea what fly to use i thought id give it a go , it was the best thing ive ever done , now i am an addicted slightley obsessed fly tyer but it keeps me busy trying to tie these things
best wishes
phil
