About Me
active in my angling association Mid Clyde who fish the lower river clyde near glasgow , Very active within this,do guiding for guests, fly tying classes ,and a crown bailiff (goverment appionted fishery warden),as well as co organise tackle test days for sponsors and tackle manufacturers who ask, I dont do all this myself Iam part of a team of very dedicated and enthusiastic guys. Also Linlithgow angling club the lower river Avon which empties int the river Forth at Grangemouth
Enjoy salmon and trout fishing with fly
particularly like rivers of which both the above are especially are recovering from years of pollution and returning to what they should be, The lower half of the Clyde suffered for years but the upper has a long history well documented in local books of a specific style of trout wet fly tied by locals, and now with things clearing up we are getting migratory runs of salmon and seatrout
The Avon suffered the same for a good bit of its length but also recovering with a superb now self stocking trout population as well as a growing year on year migratory run
I love my wee grandson to bits whose name i use as a poster here
Currently working on two projects, other than learning to tie Classics
The first has been going for over two years . And that is teaching children from the tough east end of Glasgow to tie flies and take them fly fishing, The local education department have asked us to roll this out over Glasgow but only on a one night introduction basis
The next one is with elderly people in a retirement village demonstrating fly tying and fishing to the residents, one who is 90 years old fished for the Invictas ladies fly fishing team, and insisted i tie her Invictas which i did,Another old lady fished in the sea in Kenya
