Got back from vacation and was itching to start a new one. This began by following a pattern. I thought my slips wings were long enough but didn't work out, so put on an easier full wing (still trying to gain confidence assembling and mounting a married wing).

I did get some smaller blind eye hooks and some gut (thanks Charlie), so may try again.

Any critiques or tips would be great.

Thanks Scott

This is pretty good Scott. The wing is too big though. Smaller tippets and shorter would be better. End the tippets at the back of the bend or fraction of an inch more and not so tall. Then your sides would be more proportionate. Longer JC. Lots to like here though!!!!!!

Happy Trails!

im with ronn, wing abit big for the hook, also, you could have made another turn of ribbing and your tag is also overly long, don't fret the small stuff young man, it's all things we've all done. it's common errors on the journey of tying these flies, overall the fly is actually nice

Dear SCOTT,

YOU are in a 'learnfull' proces for the moment !!!

pstttttttt and I see realy nice things ...good also YOU are trying out 'things' (like that special eying body taper)...

Nice to see Your 'going' tooooooo for the 'open tail topping' on this 'full feather one (pstttttttt and believe me the way to do on those typ of flies...rather than 'overdone / overarching' toppings to meet that tip of tails

Great pointers came Your way by some of the greatest tyers and mentors here on 'our board'...

CONTINUE my friend YOU are doing great
