darla and i have been watching the games religously as we did four years ago, sometimes we're screaming with the fans there in the seats in london, micheal phelps always gets my blood moving. we wake each mourning to watch it all day long until 11 at night.

looking forward to the rest of the games in the coming weeks. the younger competitors are amazing, this mourning we watched the first double ampute compete in track for the first time olympic history. simply amazing

I just got back from a week of Scout camping with my boy. Each day after breakfast they would announce who won medals the day /night before and the dining hall would go wild - 500 boy scouts slamming on the tables chanting USA! USA! USA! .....classic!

Dear BUD and VAL,

I AM a 'addict' when it comes to SPORTS...and I love allmost every but then every sport who exists and is on the 'OLYMPIC menue' !!!

pstttttttttttttttttttttttttt let say so far 'my heart' was bouncing of JOY...I felt myself again athlete !!! (hahahahaha !!!)

LET US ENJOY ...A pitty that the friends and members uphere with a heart for the 'sport' aren't assembled in one big HALL or PUB with a big screen...bet it would be 'fun' !!! (pstttttttttttttttttt and I would even do my best to take some time for the friends and members who doesn't like 'sport' at 'all'...)...but OLYMPIC GAMES rest indeed something realy realy special of a 'upper kind'...

euh for the moment only two (2) medals for our little country BELGIUM !!!

one bronze in judo for the ladies
one silver in shooting (yesterday)

still have a chance for a medal with one of the brothers (yes brothers) who are both 400 meter athletes (and are since one/two years in company of the 'world top)
also still have a very good chance in the 'sailing' with one of our ladies who's after 8 out of the 12 sailing rounds in FIRST / LEADING possision for the moment
didn't made it with Kim CLIJSTERS in the ladies tennis
perhaps one in high jump ladies athletics with our 2008 gold medalist Tia Hellebaut...but she was absent 3 years and only retook up after 'being' mother end of last year !!! and the years starts counting tooooo and certainly at top level

the 'rest' of our squad ...I don't see win a medal ...but YOU never know !!!...they ALL must GO for GOLD...(ask MIKE TOWNEND he allways go for GOLD...even DALE DARLING in his BIG THOMPSON river....I have to do it for the moment with a couple of 'gold teeth' in my 'bad mouth' (hahahahahaha)

I watch as much of it as I can--even sports that between Olympics I barely acknowledge the existance of. I was pretty ambivalent before the games started but once the opening ceremony got underway, I was hooked. I was lucky enough to see football at Wembley and Beach Volleyball last week--will post some pics tomorrow. I wish I'd made more of an effort to get tickets as it's a once in a life time experience to have the games on your doorstep and once you go to one event, the atmosphere is so addictive, you want to see more.

Today we were amazing. Jess Ennis and Mo Farah were magnificent today--one of the many highlights us GB supporters have had. Was pleased to see Phelps get his gold on Thursday! But just like us to go out on penalties in the football :(

I watch every Olympics as much as I can. They inspire me. Was actually in NY city after the 84 olympics and got to see and meet some of our Olymic athletes, quite cool. Such drama and Human spirit on display. Wish the whole world to act that way, spirit of brotherhood and peace.

You know Bud before it started I just wasnt too fussed about it,now its going ive been well into it,Phelps proved all the ?doubters wrong after his first race where Ryan Lokte?beat him, cant think anyone will ever get near that.

Im always amazed how the best always save their best for this event,Bolt actually said that he let his training partner(the Beast)beat him in Jamacia just to make things more interesting.

Like Geert Im sport mad but ive been amazed at some of the sports Ive gotten into, things like Dressage ect.
Ive been very ill this last week with real bad pain in my head and down my spine which is why ive not been on here of late.
will the U.S.A over take China in the Medal stakes?

Without doubt IMO this has been the most interesting Olympics to date which means IMO that the U.K. finally got something right.

So far, I think my favorite moment was just a few hours after the Canadian womens syncronized dive team won bronze. The two young girls were held up in the politics of post event frenzy, and were unable to see their parents who were higher up in the stands as spectators. CTV camera crews had followed the girls, obviously this would happen it being our first medal. The girls finaly got to see their parents for the first time on the concourse outside the pool. The raw emotion captured in those moments, with strangers all around them but as if they were the only people in the world, is powerfull.

Just a quick big up to the county of Yorkshire, home of so many of the UK's medal winners. Favorite statistic... if Yorkshire was a country, we'd be 11th in the medal table, ahead of the likes of Japan, South Africa and Australia. Who would have thought that all those flat cap wearing, ferret keeping, chip eating northerners were elite athletes in disguise. Definitely challenges the stereotype!

I live on the Border by the way in Lancashire, love that healthy rivalry,my mothers from Yorkshire after all.
