Here's a link to a review of Dale's new book

http://www.reporterh...-thompson-river

The book is available from Dale or on Amazon. I didn't even get my copy autographed because we were too busy trying out "secret" patterns that we will reveal to Geert when he comes to the High Grounds.

i'll keep your secret that you slapped a piece of three day old left in the sun alligator intestines on a hook so geert doesn't find out the "secret" i hear you can bait the hook once and keep fishing all day long, also heard the secrets smell keeps all other fishermen away from you thereby having your favorite pool all to yourself all day long

geert willl be pleasantly surprize i'm sure

Bud, do you honestly think any scent would keep Geert from fishing from a bridge? Especially when his favorite secret spot he calls his cabin is a one-holed outhouse?

The questions mount as his trip draws near. My fingerling trout stream has but 1 year and 2 months until the Belgian copper caper.

Dear BUD,

I real admire Your 'LOVE' for me ...with gifting me a bit more 'INSIGHT' in the grey burblers his 'secret doings' . BUD, If in the beginning I was still able to think in 'flyfishing terms' for that 'cannibal' ...but YOU know that changed with the time I started to knew that man a bit more...what YOU tell me here is totally in the line I began to think he is capable for !!!...and and and above all and everything has allready no relation anymore with flyfishing and the 'etiquette of flyfishing' !

Painfull that this man has wrote a 'short story' (a little book) on that specific subject ...who's sooooooooo intense and close to 'our hearts' !!!
Painfull that he's complaining and jalous of 'me and Bob's' little cabin ! ...how is it possible that being a good smart copper (wich I am) it never came up in me to 'see clear' in what YOU bring over now !!!...NOW at least I NOW THE REASON why that man 'loves' HIS smell and not OURS !!!

Shame DALE to launch from every bridge a piece of rotten meat to those 'fingerling trout'...(perhaps YOU think still to can hide ...on the fact 'houseflies' are hatching from the piece of aligator meat bobbering on the 'riverbed' ...or or or on a good 'dappingday' on the surface !!! (yes from any bridge I can immagine it's to do !!! to hang Your baited hook dangling and bobbering in the surface toooooo)

Will end here ...enough for today !!!

BUD once more a BIG BIG THANKS FOR CLEARING OUT for the whole world...the secret fishing 'technique' by the 'Grey Burbler' of the High Grounds !!!

Must confess that my 'cabin mate' had said himself allready (he has a more experienced noose than mine (i am much younger YOU know then him)...to SMELL something 'stinky' different !!!

Take care BUD...psttttttttt just readed Your other 'daily' joke input...but didn't found the time to respond...neighter to Your 'wine stock' YOU builded up !!!

Geert

Dear BUD and DALE and possé,

I think I intercepted one of DALE's his 'housefly hatch' ...no investigation needed...definitly YOU must know of what sort of meat !!!

psttttttttttt yes I know YOU have 'nice blue' ONES tooooooo...BUT when YOU look to the color of YOUR bookcover Mr. DARLING ...it's GREEN !!!...and this SPECIMEN is a pure green 'one' !!! (euh even a bit on the small side !!! )

signed Geert

PS. DALE I just spotted Your Email...please please don't book a room !...I have done that allready months ago !...and as JIM is considering to come with his beloved Melissa or or or with his fried John again...
even MY cabinmate will and can be furious to hear this !!!...DALE, YOU can 'deal that KINGSIDE BED with me in the Double Tree hotel for FREE !!! (but but but I only want YOU keep Your hands on Your side in that bed ...I promise to do the same !!!...besides a night is short !!! and the night is considered for human's to sleep...pstttttttt and aren't we both catholic on 'plus' ? wink !

Will respond still when I find a bit more time !...but don't book a room ...Your flight is more than enough !!! (a pitty YOU can't convince that other 'grey' companion of Your possé...read 'grey' CHUCK VESTAL to come with YOU !!!...but with three in that BED would be perhaps tooooooo much (hahahahaha)

pstttttttttt and don't deel obliged to come to Somerset now ...do what YOU can do...and if YOU can't make it for ever reason ...not at all a problem - even not when YOU should cancel at the last days before the show !!! ...

Geert

Bud & Geert,

This is just too much for me. I've had to wear a respirator just to read this balderdash, and smelly balderdash at that. And can you imagine the tears flowing over the edges of the device to keep away the stench? Oh my.

Beware holding the man from OZ as an expert on such things, Geert; he'll deny being an expert about most things, so humble is his nature.

Bud, by the way, the only gators we got out here are them what moved to the high grounds from the swamps east of you on that big long peninsula. Gator meat, indeed.

I need to go tie a few dangle flies, though, to see if they'll fool any fingerlings!

Geert - we'll see about Somerset; I'm tempted, as you know!
