[Mike Boyer]

Here's a Mike Martinek pattern, which has to be his take on the Golden Marvel series of
flies. His calls for a body of gold twist. I used oval gold tinsel. A challenging fly to tie.

Way cool Mike! Is that one piece of gold running the whole length? Great job on the head too.

I know I have said this before, but until you have tried one of these, you have no idea how hard it is to get that wing on. I assume you tie in each crest individually? Or can you do 2 or 3 at a time? 10 total?

Martinek calls for four crests, with red Bucktail underneath. I used a bit of red dyed
Goat, and six dyed crests. I tie them in one at a time

Getting the tinsel body right is just as challenging as the wing, since it has five
'spikes' of red hackle under to throw off the even taper.

Sublime and extraordinary work here...soooooooooo difficult my friend...but what a tying and streamer in the END ...ONE WITH BRAVOURE !

but I would say it ten times in a row...YOU ARE as good if not simply a tinny bit better !!! (seriously !)
