Neat pictures gerald and thanks for sharing with us. That damn bird looks a evil as the Kori.
[Dear GORDO(n), and the others...
Yes, yes yes I was a little impressed myself when MICHEL took it of 'his dressoir' ...out of his salon...
up into his 'old kitchen'...
Before 'unleaving' and taking some photo's he even 'has given' that EVIL looking 'bittern' a cleaningsweep with one of his 'as old towls - (shown in his hands)...
After that I took some photo's and 'nipped of 4 pairs of shoulder feathers...the others who I taught had to be more easy where more difficult ...because the feathers clitted togheter (it felt just as there was 'wax' on them...so I didn't insisit further...I think in honnest I had the most valuabel feathers (the shoulders)...and I didn't want to MISHANDEL his wonderful bird.
I have now some years to 'look' at my scalps...and most of all to read some 'old books'..on wich patterns I will 'ever if ever ?' to use them ...I think it has indeed some resemblance to 'capercaillie' :
but but but ...
I heared of the BITTERN pattern by Francis Franis
I heared of the CAPTAIN (by Berrington ?)
I heared of the TOWNSHEND (by ?)
Meg in the braws (?)
maybe there are a lot more ...I realy don't know...
THANKS TO ALL (read all) who respond so far to this input...and I can garantee everyONE ...that a BITTERN is indeed a magnificent bird...yes GORDO(n) I think that if those bird had could talk to us ...how many 'fish' they caught in their whole carreer it would be even more impressif...(anyway more than we fanatic fisherman) .
Gerald
