Hi Guys,

two years ago I decided to tie the Black Argus, probably one of more complicated challenge in my experience as a fly tyer. With the help of Mike Townend I started to apply feather after feather on a hook and the result become a fly more beautiful than my expectation.

To show to Mike the progress of my work and to get back his suggestion, I made a step by step photographic sequence while I was building my Black Argus and with this materials I have written the article that you can read now on this link

I used different technique for the wing. I used thread to tie stems together and made a bundle : two, when added another two and when added third set. It allowed me to put the wing low as I was able to adjust them all together .

Hey Luca,

 

fine to see you returning into the field of classic salmon flies although your last posts  were also very informative for me.

Besides the fact that you are an excellent photographer you are able to explain your doing very well for me and I think for other beginners too.

I am not the one who could have the audacity to praise your talent and skill -  you will  hear this from the Big Guns, but I can applaude to the products of your tying.

 

Would like to see more of your SBS-Explanations.
