thread - Danville 6/0 black
tail - red schlappen over golden pheasant tippet
rib - oval tinsel gold
body - back half floss gold, front half dubbing claret
hackle - claret
wing - bronze mallard

Scott:  I've tied and fished the Mustad 9671 all my flyfishing life.  Your fly is truly a hook to dressing marriage made in heaven.  Exceptional attention to detail on a perfectly sensible design.  In the short time I've taken to write this, in the back of my mind I've run through so many instances when/where this pattern would have been the cat's meow

Beautiful pattern for when a dark fly is needed.  Well crafted and looks like a winner.
