The original hairwing pattern of this Scottish classic is a terrific catcher. In this case I thought I'd use the under utilized lower section of goose shoulders that often have wispy ends. They would be perfect as tails in only the longest of dressings. Here I choose to give them a shot as wings. I anticipate that it would show well in slower/still waters, allowing the material to sway enticingly. One pic dry and another after a visit to the faucet. Not the prettiest of flies, but worth a look and a thought. Watcha think?
