I haven't tied a Classic since April so I thought I'd kick off the tying season with a  a moth eaten Red Ranger variant, which I resurrected by  re-using as much as possible of the original  -  including the hook, the tinsel in the tag, the IC in the tail and the seals fur body as well as the cheeks, and the gut loop.

Unfortunately, the flat tinsel rib seems to have run away from me on the last two wraps - other than that I'm happy with it -said Dr Fronkensteen  :-D

Recycling the original materials gives that fly a certain patina of age that I really like...very nicely tied as well AM.

No worries on the tinsel...we're all human and those things happen.

Cheers,

George

Great job, I love that you reused so much from the original. Great hook. The tag and butt is set quite low in the bend, was this done on the original too?
