Hey all,

I recently moved to Richmond, VA (from Philly) and this is the first fly tied in the new place.  I was playing around with colors and wanted to feature a large chunk of argus.  Not the best background for the photo, but it's what I had on hand.

Cheers,

Brad

Nice fly!  Everyone has their own preferences for showing their flies photographically.   I am a fan of the "less is more" school.  A plain neutral background will then not distract from what you are really trying to show.  But, it does depend on your intent.  If you are trying to do an "art statement",  you are into a different category.  Then, the fly may only be one element of an overall artistic photographic composition.

Thanks all for the kind words.

When my choices of background was a cardboard box or a leather coaster, I went with the more interesting option...

Thanks again!
