Could anyone point me in the right direction for being able to understand what I have including the value? I have no idea, but after a few Google searches it appears they may be quite valuable.

I'm sure there's a few on the board that can probably help you with that,

Thanks for getting back to me.
Ironically, I own an Orvis Endorsed fly-fishing lodge and yet have never heard of this lady. Go figure

Also I found a personal note from Megan Boyd to the person who bought them, dated 1971 which is kind of cool. Let me know if the pics are okay and or you have any additional questions. I can always take a few more.

Don't worry about not knowing, you've got your head on the right way for the business. Not a "great" tier but she is none the less important historically for dressing feather-wings commercially for anglers to catch with.

Whats nice about these is that they are tied with some quality materials such as IC,Arabian Bustard Chatterer and such.
No doubt about it if youre gonna sell em then as Dave mentioned a specialist Angling/sporting sale is the way to go,remember wherever you cchoose to go be it Mullocks,Neil Freemans or as someone said a place in the states with the internet its a Global Market and these will not go unoticed, get em in catalogued right as come and buy me estimates and watch em fly.
Great find mate.
PS Im sure Colin Simpson the one surviving person to have spoke to Megan Boyd and indeed was mentored by her would be thrilled to see these,he was featured in Trout n Salmon recently and lots to say of her and her tying.

For myself a pure joy to can look to the beautyful flies 'SHE' tied allmost a HALF A 'century' (if not longer) ago ! ...and this regardless the "pro's and 'contra's" liking or disliking Megan's flies !
(IMO) It's something to cherrish ...that this 'woman' was at least 'someone' WHO CONTINUED 'day in day out' ! classic salmon flytying ! .........in difficult times, difficult conditions ...for having a income and a living !!!
NO more words to say and bring over ...that this 'great femal flytyer of classic salmon flies' didn't have stealed her 'popularity' and 'respect she deserved' by the whole world ...!
I hope they shaft You the pleasure ...'sold or kept'...

The collection as you all pointed out is indeed quite valuable. But more than money it truly represents a piece of fly-fishing history. As one of you made mention, it would be a benefit to all if it were on display for others to see. The quality of the work is truly amazing!
I hope to also place some of the flies at my fly-fishing lodge in Canada for my fishermen to admire.

P.S. I just found a couple of vintage Hardy reels!

I am curious.
Does anybody know what happened to this set of flies?

I returned them to the owner of the Estate. They were overjoyed to have something so special from their father. They plan to display them properly (not in an old cigar box like I found them in).
I did reach out to many experts and learned they would have fetched mid-5 figures if sold at auction.

It would be great if someone could properly photograph them and share that set with the global fly tying community.
