Hook Size actual

I am looking for reference to the actual measurements of the old hooks the fellows like Blacker,Ephemera and Kelson used. Tried the search system here and came up blank with 6 different phrases.
Secondly, when finding good white tipped turkey feathers what is the going rate for them?
Thx in advance for help.

Hi again... 1 "There's only one hard & fast rule & that's there are NO hard & fast rules" there are several books about the manufacture of salmon hooks, as well as loads of articles, tutorials etc & 2. turkey a.o. several other featgers tend to be a trifle seasonal & this is probably not the best time of year to source them. There are several specialist suppliers of turkey feathers that might be worth checking out, www.porterturkeys.com & this couple seem to have a good reputation especially as their feathers tend to be a bit smaller than some others out there, this is a sample page, but check out their other items or drop yhem a p.m if you can't find what you want, currently listed https://www.ebay.com/itm/17-pcs-RARE-light-mottled-Turkey-tail-feather-Long-16-20cm-Fiber-40-50mm-750/352774150405?hash=item5222fa5905%3Ag%3AlgUAAOSw0ohdDSB3&fbclid=IwAR3NnL9SOFUgz6KS7LxIO4jYP-8iyasaXKN6iOCZCTUAL4FcsRF3XZu8hPk

Contact Paul Rossman. He published a book on salmon hooks a while back and may still have copies. You may reach him on Facebook.

Look at the hook plates in the older book. Almost all are marked with the sizes and bends of the hooks that were used by the various fly dressers.

As for turkey feathers, check out suzanna-betta on eBay. Nice feathers at a very reasonable price. This is Parviz Ammadof's site. He also posts in "About Feathers". A Facebook group you likely should join.
