My dear friend and mentor, John Betts, passed away this last Friday (8/28) after a long battle with several different ailments.  He was a gifted fly tier, artist, writer and a giant in the fly tying community.  He will be greatly missed.

!00% Agree, I was about the first guy in the U.K. to make contact with him during the 80's when he wrote about the use of Organza & we swapped many letters (remember those ?) et al. I met him once, albeit quite briefly when he came over & was a visitor to our Game Fair, probably during the early to mid 90's. A true gentleman.
