I recently purchased twenty nearly perfect pairs of silver pheasant center tail feathers and had them dyed in a rainbow of colors.  I have used them (so  far) as the wing for a fly of my own design and as a replacement for swan in the classic "Tweedside" by Forrest.

The silver pheasant marries well and ties down much like golden or Amherst pheasant tail barbs. There is a significant portion of the feather with a  recurve, but some of that can be tamed when used in mixture with bustard or Argus wing or natural turkey tail.

I failed to attach this image of the lot I had dyed by John McLain.  (THANKS JOHN!)  They are available from the Chinese sellers on eBay.

Couple of sweet flies Jim. That material definitely has a certain pop to it...and McLain's dye job sure doesn't hurt!!!
