Mr Snowies 3 Flies for the Garry and the Snow Fly from the Francis Francis Collection. All a bit rough , been having something lately . i think too many saltwater flies has gone to the brain. The Snow fly is a little different in that it calls for a short hackle . Looks a bit strange on a 4/0 hook

Hi Bob:

Lovely. I really like the one on the top right for some reason - it popped out right off for me. Might be what looks like green dubbing on the body in front of the floss, if that's what it is. Bright and lovely, like spring.

But all four are really lovely flies. All 4/0 then? Large ones, eh?

Hope your friend hooks barramundi on the flies you've tied up. Back to the classics for you, sir!

Good to see more flies from you Bob.

I just tied Francis Francis' Snow Fly last night and gave it to a guy who is going to fish it this week for carp laugh.gif (No, I am not joking.) IT is an interesting little fly, especially with the short hackle, but I think it balances out the fly alright. With it's lower set wing and the dubbing joints, it just seems to fit better when it is a smaller hackle.

Thanks for showing us what you have been working on.

Gorgeous times 4, Bob. That one on the top right is
my fave, though. Sweet!

Hey Bob:

I sure know what you're talking about when a tyer tries to integrate styles. It's like saying the same thing . but in different languages. Not to worry my friend, these flies are Frandsen flies through and through...and that's a good thing
