Hello, thanks to Will, I am now able to acces my account for the first time, and have been busy looking at all the beautiful flies and feathers. While I am new to CFT, I currently have 145 posts, so some of the crossovers may have seen me. With that said, Ill give a brief introduction.
I have been tying for two years, one with a vise and actual tools. My first flies were extremely crude, but they have been improving slowly. I have been doing some salmon flies over the past few months, mostly hairwings, traditional speys, and some featherwings but have not yet completed a married wing. I have made a couple of bodies and hope to complete them soon, now that I have some of the materials.

The dodger:Attached File  EC92F76B-35A2-4934-9BAE-E41D9DF9D094.jpeg   324.97K   57 downloads.
A freestyle inspired by the second ghost fly. Attached File  72D1F8F9-E773-4C62-8137-D4026B712649.jpeg   173.09K   65 downloads. The Jonah. I am not entirely happy with this one, so I tied another, all that is left is the red goose strip. I may post that when completed. Welcome to the forum Henry. Looks like you have a pretty good handle on things. The second to the last fly is going to give you a problem when you try to "wing it" due to a LOT of bulk behind the wing platform. When you run your dubbing forward, use just enough dubbing to colour the thread for the last few turns. That way you will have a flat area to mount the wing. You'll hear about the "Z bend" but that is a crutch for bad technique. Anyway, hold on for a wild and fun ride!

Happy Trails!
Ronn
