I have a vice, I like vintage vises, bobbins, tying tools.

I recently acquired my favorite early vise, and based on my research it may be quite early

The image next to the vise is from F Halfords "Floating Flies and How to Dress Them" 1886

The company that made these vises was Holtzapffel and Co. they made a lot of cool tools for most of the 19th century.  Google "Holtzapffel lathes"

The detail on the vise is incredible, I haven't chucked up a hook yet but I intend to.

Agreed. Let's see a hook dressed up in it.
