When you get back, you might tie that challenge fly I sent you the hook to complete.  Long finally got around to tying his....you are the remaining slacker.

The Yasuhiro "gold leaf" hook.  The challenge was to tie a fly on it without a body so that most of the hook still showed.  You duplicated the gold leaf application and showed that, but as far as I know, never met the challenge.

This was mine.  I chose something of a low water style to minimize the fly as well as eliminate the body.  But, it was Long's challenge.  I will see if I can track down his fly.

I actually made 2 gold leaf hooks, I still have one, I tied a fly with the other framed and on a collector's wall today. It was pretty easy to do. I used 2 Lucas hooks. Got a big ole gallon Ziploc of gold leaf. Talk about a mess to play with that stuff. Just breathing on it makes it drift all over the place

So, now for a body-less fly with the Yasuhiro hook I sent you.  I look forward to seeing it.
