Oh yes the tail too still for me the hardest part of the fly,this ones great for the hook i reckon.
You are a very good sport Jeff for showing all on here YOUR way,your flies are No 1 in my eyes.

This is a really well done addition to our knowledge base in dressing these patterns. Lots of little nuggets of information in the photos and the written description. I especially like where you stopped, analyzed the hackle and took the time to fix this before moving on. Most folks rush to get the fly finished and then can't go back and fix a problem.

One of the great thing with these pics is those superb overhead shots looking down on the fly whether it be from the gut, tail,tail veiling's,wing both underwing and outer,to the topping and horns all of these pics show brilliantly how things are tied in straight lines.
Id say even though these flies are full of curves and flow the secret to tying these well is in symmetrical straight lines and its something that takes time to do as shown here.
This thread is better than any book ive seen and should be the first port of call for any newcomers on here.

That is one amazing tutorial, very well photographed and explained.
Definitely a huge contribution to the site and a great tutorial for the new and old tyer alike.
