I came across the fly shown while browsing the Partridge hook catalogue. I've tied up a few just for interest sake using what I think the materials are. It's a pretty fly and as far as I know (according to Partridge) was tied by Terry Griffiths (edited and compiled 'The Essential Kelson'). I have searched repeatedly to find out any information about the fly (its origin, Salmon or Seatrout or Steelhead etc., how, when to fish it), but so far drawn a blank. Any information on the Illien or Lien Blue will really help. The fly shown was tied on a Bartleet Supreme CS10/2. Thank you

Unfortunatly, Terry passed away a couple of years ago, so no longer possible to get in direct contact with him, as I would have done for you as I knew him reasonably well.  It is an Ilean Blue b.t.w.

Thank you Arkle for the correct name 'Ilean Blue', hopefully the correct name will aid my search :)
