Very nice. I've been meaning to try tying some of those patterns for a while yet have not found the time.

I really hate to admit this, but this would make a good bass fly.

A very cool tie, Jerry. headbang.gif

LOL. Yeah, I'm sure it would. An awesome steelhead dry is a mouse pattern during the summer. So, guess some are universal. biggrin.gif

Steelheader69,

Are there any other good color combos for this fly or should I just wing it?

Thanks, Charlie

Yes would be a nice bass and pike fly too.

These are tied in all different colors orange, black, purple, etc. The orange one pictured here might even be a good craw fish impression for smallmouth bass, etc...

Thanks for the tying instructions Jerry will do a few of these this winter.

Color combo is up to your imagination. This is the color scheme per the "original", though not tied completely to the original standards. But I have these tied in a variety of colors. Including my favorite, hot pink. biggrin.gif

LOL Will. Don't worry UNTIL I start wearing a pink shirt, pink waders, and have a custom pink flyrod made. But steelies here in WA (and salmon too) LOVE pink. So I go with the flow. laugh.gif
