I live about 30 miles north of St. Pete. There is very good fishing that time of year. There are many flats on the east side of the city, Weedon Island is a good spot. To the south there is Fort DeSoto park, beach fishing around the piers for Pompano is a blast with a 6 or 7 wt. rod. Tie up some Gotcha's, the Pomps love them.
The important thing to remember is that tides dictate the bite. The 2 hours or so on either side of the high tide is the most productive. I'd offer to guide you, but I'm going to be very tied up in late Nov. Good luck and have fun.
