Hi Ryan!

Thanks for these.

How do you suppose the variation in wing positions came about? In the US, the wings on Wulff patterns are toward the center of the abdomen with hackle fore and aft. Looks like your wings are far forward - bet they'd fish great over here! The one with silver badger looks like a coffin fly killer; all are lovely.

When Geert was here, I was surprised at how large his dry flies were. It was interesting. Most of what I fished on my stream were #16 and smaller - had trout rejecting #30's one time - I went to eat hot soup. I'm not sure Geert had anything smaller than a #14 - standard size.

I agree with tying Wulffs on nymph, or heavier wire, hooks. Actually most hair wing patterns - caddis, too.

Do you use these?

Thanks for the post. Hi to you and the dragon slayers. And the girls.

I notice you use squirrel and fox as a tailing material? I always thought of them as streamer or wet fly materials. Do they hold up alright on dries or do they get wet and effect how the fly floats? Just wondering. Thanks.

squirrel floats ok when ginked up the fox isnt great but the idea with it is to feel more natural on the take and have less rejections
