i got these in auctions and online something i did notice was that the gut loops are quite long on some but when you see the cast they were looping through them it is not surprising as it is like tow rope, salmon are obviously not leader shy

theres speculation that these two flies are original blacker flies. i believe they are also posted on Mclains site

i like this idea alot and when i get some things , i'll put them in
BUT
i'm gonna be a little pesky here but what do you want to call vintage...anything over _50______ years old?
and i have some old snelled wet flies and dry flies...those also or just salmon?
just being a old s.o.b.

These are Vintage speys - they came in a case gilded lettering 'Shanks' general opinion is they are Geordie Shanks flies but could well be by his father , Jamie also a fly tying legend, surprisingly more buggy than shrimpy and short hooks too!

Britannia size 7/0. The colours have faded a litle bit. (hackle)
