From the Doyen of Irish Fly Dressers. Michael Rogan. He had Salmon in mind when he produced this Classic.

Nearly as good as todays hairwings.

Lovely tie Charlie...and with those reversed toppings the motion in the water must drive the salmon to distraction !!!

Thanks Charlie. I really like this one too. Have you fished a Parsons tied like this? How did it swim! George and I seem to be thinking similar thoughts.

I'm always puzzled when people claim that hair wings are superior to feathers. Opinions and facts are different things entirely...

Great fly!

Easier access to furs for most conventional fly tier's while keeping costs to a minimum. Easier to mass production as well. I have more success on feather wings. If I'm looking for  maximum movement I'll use maribou or rabbit strips. I believe both wing styles work great under the right conditions. But if everyone on the river is throwing hair wings some are bound to catch.
