Revisited this pattern. Pretty pleased with much of it, but will probably redo the herl head in the near future. Tried a different approach and do like how it turned out, but for a Traherne fly, it just doesn't look right.

 

The hook is an old forged limerick, consistent with the plates in Kelson's Salmon Fly.

Great tie Robert . I am wondering, isnt the crow suppose to be tied in upright back to back as the chatterer?.

Thanks buddy. Back to back is the fashion, but it isn't consistent with the Land & Water plate. That plate shows fat granadensis, tied flat. I like it this way, because it brings out the line from tail to throat. You can only pull it off with granadensis though.
