The previous owner told me that the jay/IC winged fly on plate 19 is likely an original Traherne fly. Take it for what it's worth.

Many beauties. Look how long and big most of the JC are on oldies, to me it seems like JC are an essential part of the wing, tiny JC is a modern thing i suppose.

these are my latest arrivals some interesting early hairwings there and the box although a bit beat up is real nice its big and heavy 12cm x 20cm x2.5 cm mallochs pat 13561 with a swing leaf and a gut retainer

the silver bodies are unusual they are seamless i think they are some sort of tube slid over the eye

Hello all. I am new to this forum and this is my first post. This is a Jock Scott, I bought some time ago and do not know any history about whether this particular fly. Probably it is tied sometime around the last century.

Greetings

Sven

Thought Id post these on here for your enjoyment and because on here they wont get lost like my other Kelson posts.

Three flies all from Kelson large Box,since buying this lot I was sent a page out of a vintage tackle magazine which went into some detail about the sale from where this came,I was amazed to read that my lot came with three flies tied by Kelson and that the other lots that day were mostly flies from Violet Fane, quite amazing really as it took me ages to dig out these flies.

The big one is a real one off and could be one of his exaggeration flies??
The Grub is a little Beauty and very Kelson as it has Touracou in the tail,a material he prefered to Ibis.
Lastly a fly called the Nova Scotia attached to a Kent County Cricket Card which also gives this great provenence as he played for them quite early on too I think,Ive also inc in the pic a Kelson Improved Limerick which are forged in appearence and were made up to 6".

Hope you all enjoy these.

Andrew.
