The fact that you returned them to the owner of the estate proves beyond a shadow of a doubt you are a gentleman of the first order.

For some interesting insight on a personal level regarding Megan Boyd, you might want to contact Bob Selb of the Classic Fly Fisherman in Lansdale, PA. He is good friends with Ron Alcott and they visited her together several times. Mr. Alcott was also much more of a regular to Scotland to see Ms. Boyd.

I hope as someone else suggested, these flies can be properly photographed and made available to view for the salmon fly tying/fishing world.

Thanks for sharing this amazing find.

Cheers,

George

41 flies? I'm afraid I think 'mid five figures' - i.e. £50,000 (or even only £10k) - is extremely optimistic - think you'd probably be looking at £2000-£3000 (you'd be looking at say £8k if they were fully documented Kelson-tied flies sold as a set - or maybe £16k if sold individually).

Nice to see nonetheless

Fisherman Ted

Thank you so very much for sharing the pictures.  I wish I could see some of Megan Boyd's flies in person but doubt that will ever happen.

47 of her flies were sold by Mullock's Auctions in February of this year for £22,000 hammer price. A quick search of their web site will produce some pictures. £460/fly. I would guess she would think the world has gone mad.
