I posted this on the TFF board but no one was 100% certain of the answer. I found a site that is nothing but the history of flyfishing. It goes back to Macedonia, Dame Juliana and a bunch more. I was reading some of the biographies and Izaac Walton has a Latin phrase on his tombstone. Can someone here please help me translate it? I have done the Google translate Latin to English and didn't find anything helpful. The phrase is:

Votis modestis sic flerunt liberi

If anyone wants to read anything about the history the site is:

Oh,oh...........it has been a long long time since I have learned about latin ( I won't tell you how long tongue.gif ), but I will try - double trouble for me, because I have to translate twice........so that is what I get doing it Latin - German - English

"So your children has been mourning according to your humble wish"

Hope that will help - if not, I will ask the boys next week, they are learning latin for several years now

Thank you Heike. That seems closer than what I've heard so far.
