Visited Etosha National Park on Thursday. Currently we experience a severe drought, but while some animals are suffering, some are surviving and even breeding, although not very well. Of course the predators are having a field day.

I think some tiers will be glad to hear that the natural Bustard population is doing well and regular sightings occur.

Great pictures of a beautiful part of the world! Nature is incredibly fragile and resilient at the same time isn't it? Thanks for sharing this with us. Marc

Thanks Naas. Good to see the pictures and hear your passion for your neighborhood. Don't keg Geert visit. You won't have a bustard, ostrich or any other bird left. Depending on how much beer you have, that is.

Thank you for the kind words

Dave, I wish.

Dale, these Ostriches do not fool around, they swallow beer bottles for breakfast. For the rest, they are not as tame as certain birds in Europe.

Beer, it is one thing we have enough in this country, even for some friends on this forum and more..

Haha. I've named Geert the beer bottle Belgian burbler - BBBBBB: we add a few because bird killing is in there, too - for his propensity to find dead birds along his walking path near his home. When he shows photos of the fresh find, the photo usually has a few beer bottles in it.
But I think you're right. He's have a rough go with an ostrich or bustard. Even though they are big, and would seem to be an easier target, I suspect he'd have a tough time hitting one with a toss over his shoulder while running for his life.

Hope you're wrll today.
