As I said strange coincidence with Dale - specially given how extremely rarely I tie the GH and the fact I haven't used one of these hooks for about 6 months.

Anyway here it is - slight departure from the official Major Grant pattern in Kelson in that I had a bustard frenzy and used Houbara, Arabian and Dark Kori with no Dark Turkey. Used some of my pseudo parrot in the wing as I really like the stuff.

With hindsight it's very fat on the hook- much too fat for my liking - partly because it feature a full tippet in the underwing as per pattern - was going to run the wings up the side - but capped the tippets in the end.

As mentioned this hook feels absolutely huge after my recent ties.

Maybe a bit burly above the hook but still an absolute stunner. It is a treat to see the contrast in Bustard. Wonderful fly, Dave.

HI Dave!

Very nice. I wonder if the fatness has anything to do with how quickly the floss tapers from the butt? Not sure - if it stayed thinner just a little longer, would it still look too fat to you? Still, it probably does balance with the tallness of the wing on this hook.

Really pretty..nice to see this one from you, as well. Also, just out of curiosity - would the light bustard between the other two defeat what you wanted while showing off the other two? Really pretty wing - just a thought.

I really like the fly! Hope you're well. Any rain? Any fish pushing up the Eden just now?

Thanks.

You'll never hear me complain about any GH posted here. This one is simply stunning. The bustard-heavy wing is as good as it gets. I know it's not your usual go-fast style, but it rocks nonetheless!

Superb fly Dave. 'Tis a stout one indeed. I love the tail (wish I had a BUNCH of tailing material like that- quality GP crests in that size are rarer then hen's teeth).

Your pseudo-parrot is wonderful and the bustard frenzy looks awesome.

I really like the contrast of the different types of Bustard.

Good to see you back in the saddle; even if you did "sell out" smile.gif.

Really Dave, it is good to see another fly from you.

Cole.

Thats a stunning GH Dave, honestly my mind boggles when you say these1/0s look big compared to what youve been tying on lately, what i mean is my brain doesnt always compute how small some of your dinky jobs are,as ive got some of these hooks i now realise how small your recent ones must be.

I think the wing looks stunning with its different Bustard in it,I think it was Jeff who said no matter what size hook you tie on everything re proportions always look right and were it not for the Vice we'd be none the wiser of the size.

On the TV tonight was a thing on Cockermouth 6 month later and the Derwent is at a Record low,its getting silly now i reckon.

Cheers Andrew...

Hi Dave

Superb job on such a massive hook. Would have liked to have seen your roof a bit longer but I am nit picking.

Best regards Mike
